Saba’s power plant, looking like a relic from the dawn of the Industrial Age, up close and personal an desaturated to a grayish black and white, with the color of the cliffs behind it. It continues to chug along its diesel self, except when it doesn’t, and then the island goes eery black if its night time, or just a little quieter if its daytime. It works.
Yea, having lived here now for our 14th year, we have had a master generator for the past five of them. It was annoying if watching a favorite show…to have it go off, due to the “current” being off for weather or simply to add a new home to the line. Yea I suffer from Video Ra-phobia, (fear of being away from a t.v. for to long!! Hee Hee!! BUT TRUE!) Ask Chaz…. I grew up with this “best Friend!!” Any ways when I first landed on Saba by boat, I freaked as this was my first impression. ROUGH!!! But as one winds up the amazing roads realizes the true beauty within. Not to forget the Wonderful Local Flair with the Folks, Food, Drink and Dance!!! Wa La a Little Bit of Paradise. Ask Chaz!!!!!
